Spring Refresh: Decorate Your Balcony
Dieser Post ist von 25. Apr 2016 by Livarea.
Spring, yes it is, one might joyfully exclaim with the poet Eduard Mörike. Everywhere, nature is blossoming in the most vibrant colours; crocuses and daffodils are now in season. Is your own balcony still suffering from bleak winter gloom? With just a few spring flowers and stylish, yet practical furniture, this can quickly be dispelled, transforming your balcony into a small haven of well-being.
The balcony is the place in our home that we seek out with the first rays of spring sunshine when we need rest or a break. Here we recharge our batteries, enjoy the fresh air and life itself. As an ideal retreat from the stress and hustle of everyday life, we can undisturbed ponder our thoughts here, delve into other worlds with a good book, or spontaneously host a small barbecue with neighbours or friends.

With balcony boxes and spring bloomers, you can bring the awakening of nature to your balcony. The scent of these fragrant plants positively influences our mood. Simply bid farewell to winter with flowers. Where spring bloomers blossom, good spirits are guaranteed. Starring are pansies, horn violets, primroses, daisies, or forced flower bulbs, which you can get for little money at your nearest DIY or garden centre and which will delight your eyes with fresh, vibrant colours.

For example, you can save a lot of space with wall-mounted decorative elements like flower pots and wind chimes, as well as folding furniture. However, how you best furnish your balcony also depends on its orientation. Not everyone has hours of sunshine on a south-facing balcony.
Balcony furniture – consider the orientation
A south-facing balcony guarantees the most hours of sunshine, which you can best spend in a comfortable sun lounger, provided there is enough space on the balcony. A comfortable chair also makes suitable furniture for a sunny spot and is also easy to care for. Ideally, choose wooden furniture for a south-facing balcony. Why? Here they dry faster than on a north-facing balcony, which is in the shade most of the time.

However, an outdoor seating area here offers welcome cooling, especially on very hot summer days. If you are buying seating for a north-facing balcony, you should consider that the furniture will be in the shade for most of the time and will receive little sunlight. Here, the seating and material must meet the highest demands, which applies, for example, to teak furniture, which is particularly weather-resistant.
A west-facing balcony is ideal for working people, as it only gets sun in the second half of the day. Here you can still enjoy the sun in super comfortable lounge garden furniture even after work. You can catch the first hours of sunshine of the day on an east-facing balcony. If you want to have breakfast here, you should consider a small table as basic equipment and the matching chairs.
With these furnishing tips, spring will soon arrive on your balcony, and you can enjoy it in peace among colourful spring flowers and stylish decorative elements.
