Hanging Lowboard with Rounded Ends: The Novamobili Tondora

At first glance, Tondora looks like a classic lowboard: flat, long, and free-standing on the wall. The difference is visible on the sides. Instead of a hard corner, the lowboard tapers into a round module at both ends. The curved door gently recedes towards the wall, so the silhouette remains soft and calm.

On top, a mere 1,2 cm thin cover plate in the same color finishes the furniture and follows the curve on both sides. The gaps between the fronts are narrow and even. Especially in front of a marble or stone wall, this clear, soft shape looks particularly elegant, as shown here in dark grey with a width of 240 cm.

There is not a single handle on the front of Tondora. The flaps open downwards with light pressure; Novamobili uses the Filo system with Tip-on for this. The round doors at the ends open sideways with Push-Pull. This keeps the surface smooth, and nothing disturbs the line under the TV.

On the outside, the lowboard is finished all around in your desired color, including the front edges and the inner sides of flaps and doors. So, if you open a flap, you won't see a different color on the front.

With a 45,5 cm depth, Tondora is deeper than many narrow floating boards. Receivers, sound equipment, game consoles, and cables find comfortable space. The round modules at the ends are well suited for items you need less often, such as remote controls, games, or charging cables.

The interior is finished in melamine Obsidian, a very dark anthracite. This way, devices and cables recede visually, even if a flap is left open.

Tondora is available in four matte lacquered colors and one wood finish:

• White (Bianco, similar to RAL 9016)
• Light Grey (Velo, similar to RAL 7035)
• Dark Grey (Ombra, similar to RAL 7022)
• Sand (Sabbia, similar to RAL 1019)
• Light Oak Veneer (Rovere Chiaro)

Light tones like white and light grey make the lowboard almost blend with a light wall. Dark grey sets a clear accent against marble or light plaster. Sand suits warm walls made of travertine or lime plaster, as in the picture with a width of 240 cm. Oak brings warmth to a living room with light furniture and wooden flooring.

Tondora is available in two widths. The front division changes accordingly:

• 210 cm: Round module 30 cm, one flap 150 cm, round module 30 cm
• 240 cm: Round module 30 cm, two flaps each 90 cm, round module 30 cm

Both variants are 33,2 cm high (body 32 cm plus cover plate 1,2 cm) and 45,5 cm deep. As a rule of thumb: The lowboard should be slightly wider than the TV, and enough wall space should remain free on the left and right for the round ends to have an effect. On a narrower wall, the 210 cm variant with the continuous flap is often the calmer choice, as shown here in light grey.

Tondora is hung on the wall and floats freely above the floor. The wall should be load-bearing, ideally solid. For plasterboard walls or similar constructions, special fastenings are necessary. Always use wall plugs that match your wall. If you don't feel confident installing it yourself, you can book professional installation in the shopping cart.

Good to know: The light strip under the lowboard in our pictures is decoration. TV, TV wall panel, LED lighting, and accessories are not included in the scope of delivery.
