Guide: choosing the right floating bedside table

A floating bedside table is mounted on the wall instead of standing on the floor. It appears to float, the floor stays clear, and you choose the height to suit your bed – from a low designer bed to a tall box spring bed.

With drawers, narrow or wide

Floating bedside tables with drawers come with one or two drawers. Narrow from 45 cm (Ecletto) or 46 cm (Easy), 60 cm wide, or up to 90 cm for plenty of surface space. At 15 cm, the Ecletto 1 drawer is especially slim; at 35.6 cm, the Easy 2 drawers offers the most storage.

White, black, grey or wood

A white floating bedside table almost blends into the wall. The Ecletto comes in matt white, black, light grey and dark grey; the Easy also in sand and, if you like, in high gloss. Looking for an oak floating bedside table? The Punt Sussex comes in oak or walnut.

With light or wireless charging

For a floating bedside table with a light, choose the Ecletto: the drawer lights up inside as soon as you open it. The Ecletto Open has optional LED lighting. For wireless charging, Novamobili offers the Easy with a Qi charger built into the top.

Floating bedside table, bedside cabinet or nightstand

Whether you call it a floating bedside table, a wall-mounted bedside cabinet, a wall-hung bedside table or a floating nightstand – they all mean a bedside table that hangs on the wall. For a double bed, order two: mounted at the same height on either side, the pair looks especially calm.

The right height next to a box spring bed

With a box spring bed the mattress sits much higher than on a standard bed – a freestanding bedside table can quickly look too low. A floating bedside table is mounted exactly at mattress height. How to work out that height is explained in our guide Nightstand for a box spring bed: the 70 cm rule.

Wall mounting

Mount it on a solid, load-bearing wall. The bedside tables arrive pre-assembled with TÜV-certified fittings; for the Ecletto 1 drawer, Ecletto Open and Sussex you can also book an assembly service.

How high should a bedside table hang next to a box spring bed?

Take the top of the mattress as your guide: if it sits at 70 cm, mount the top of the bedside table at around 70 cm as well.

Are there floating bedside tables with a light or wireless charging?

Yes. The Ecletto 1 and 2 are available with an interior light in the drawer, the Ecletto Open with LED. The Novamobili Easy bedside tables are available with a wireless Qi charger.

How is the bedside table mounted?

It arrives pre-assembled and is hung on a solid, load-bearing wall. For the Ecletto 1 drawer, Ecletto Open and Sussex you can add an assembly service in the basket.

Can the models also stand on the floor?

Yes. The Ecletto and Easy are also available with legs, the Sussex with a plinth or legs.
